Album
Live Forever by Bartees Strange
The entire album shimmers with joy and freedom. It captures the feeling of speeding down the highway, pushing well past the speed limit, feeling peaceful and chaotic at the same time.
Film
Lingua Franca directed by Isabel Sandoval
Sandoval excels at ensuring that an aura of quiet anxiety and paranoia is sustained throughout the film. While Olivia’s present-day might entail giving Olga a bath or laying in bed with Alex, the prospect of deportation is always at the forefront of her mind.

Two Virgins Episode #20: Dirty Chai and an Interview with Barbora Kysilkova
On this week's episode, Teresa and Sam interview Czech painter Barbora Kysilkova over a cup of dirty chai. Barbora Kysilkova is one of the two main subjects of this year's acclaimed documentary, The Painter and the Thief, directed by Benjamin Ree. The Painter and the Thief tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Barbora Kysilkova and Bertil Nordland, the man who stole two of Barbora's most famous paintings. Barbora talks to Teresa and Sam about painting as a physical form of expression, her friendship with Bertil, and her experience being the subject of a piece of art, rather than its creator.
