Album
Nobody’s Home by Bakar
In his long-awaited debut project, UK-based singer, model, and creative, Bakar demonstrates an emotionally charged manifestation for oneself and your loved ones.
Film
The Long Goodbye directed by Aneil Karia
Aneil Karia’s The Long Goodbye is a searing look into what it’s like to be treated as a foreigner in your own country — placing a British South Asian at the crux of an everyday nightmare. The 12-minute short is an accompaniment to rapper-actor Riz Ahmed’s (who plays the film’s protagonist) second album of the same name.
Book
The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans
The novella in this collection of short stories shares the collection’s title and forces the reader to confront issues of truth, fact, and who gets to decide the way history is told. Cassie and Genevieve are two black women who work for the Office of Historical Corrections and, as the name of their employer would suggest, their job is to correct any historical inaccuracies they may find.
